Celebrity chef Cat Cora has created a recipe for regrets, and it doesn’t taste good.
After being arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence last month, the “Around the World in 80 Plates” co-host now says that she learned a “very important lesson” from the experience.
“I deeply regret my decision to drive that evening after my designated driver became unavailable,” the Bravo and Food Network star said in a statement from her rep to “Access Hollywood.” “I learned a very important lesson from this experience and take full accountability for my actions. This will never happen again.”
The incident involved Cora rear-ending another vehicle in Santa Barbara on June 17, according to authorities. When police arrived on the scene, an officer noticed that Cora “displayed symptoms of alcohol intoxication,” according to a release from the City of Santa Barbara. Cora later confirmed she had three bottles of beer before driving and scored breath samples of .20 and .19. In addition, she reportedly then went on to call the people in the other car “nerds”.
According to “Today,” Cora has been charged with a DUI and one count of driving with a blood-alcohol level of .08 or higher and is set to be arraigned on July 26.
