“Community” funnyman Joel McHale has landed a guest-starring role on a TV drama.
The show is “Sons of Anarchy,” the ultra-dramatic, profane and violent FX series about a northern California motorcycle gang.
The news of McHale’s casting on the show comes from this story on TVLine.com. The story even has a photo of series star Katey Sagal and McHale on the set, indicating that McHale is already working on his multi-episode arc on “Sons.”
According to the story, McHale will play a con man named Warren who becomes intertwined with the gang. That sounds like a great plot, but a recipe for disaster for this con man, if the members of SAMCRO learn what he’s up to.
His forays into dramatic acting are rare. One of the few was his role as an FBI agent in the Matt Damon movie, “The Informant!” — a movie which was hard to peg as either a drama or comedy (let’s just say it was a serious movie done comedically and leave it at that).
