Fox News anchor Sean Hannity has landed the first interview with George Zimmerman, the man accused of killing Florida teen Trayvon Martin, reports TVNewser.
The hour-long interview will air Wednesday night at 9/8c on Fox News Channel.
“Zimmerman will open up about what happened the night of Trayvon Martin’s death and his experience in the aftermath of the fatal shooting,” according to the Fox press release.
Zimmerman’s defense attorney Mark O’Mara will also participate in the interview to discuss the controversial case and address the rumors about his client regarding “the bail donations and hidden money.”
Zimmerman, 28, is facing second-degree murder charges in the shooting death of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin, a tragedy that has captured the nation’s attention. Zimmerman, a neighborhood watch volunteer, alleges that Martin attacked him and he shot him in self-defense, while outraged supporters of the Martin family believe the young black teen was the victim of racial profiling.
On Tuesday, Fox News denied reports that Hannity had offered to pay Zimmerman’s legal fees.
