Actor Fred Willard has been arrested for suspicion of lewd conduct after he was caught exposing himself in an adult movie theater, TMZ reports.

LAPD undercover officers arrested the 72-year-old actor Wednesday night around 8:45 p.m. after he was discovered with his pants down inside the Tiki Theater in Hollywood and seen “engaging in a lewd act.”

He was booked and released from police custody shortly after.

The fallout from the arrest was immediate: By Thursday afternoon, Willard was fired by PBS from his job as host of “Market Warriors,” a spinoff of “Antiques Roadshow.”

“Given the unfortunate news reported today, effective immediately, Fred Willard no longer will be involved with the ‘Market Warriors’ series,” said Jeanne Hopkins, a spokeswoman for the show’s producers, in an email, according to the New York Times.

All unaired episodes featuring Willard that have already been taped have been yanked and will be replaced with new narration provided by Mark Walberg, the host of “Antiques Roadshow.”

Apparently, Willard did not find Pee Wee Herman’s misadventures in a XXX theater to be a cautionary tale.

Willard, who’s appeared on “Modern Family” and “Everybody Loves Raymond,” also currently hosts ABC’s new improv show “Trust Us With Your Life.” But he’s perhaps best known for his role in the Christopher Guest film “Best in Show.”
