Is Sharon Osbourne quitting “America’s Got Talent“?
The reality TV judge announced she’s leaving “AGT” — in a cryptic message posted Tuesday on Twitter.
“My darling @HowardStern, money is not the reason I’m not returning to @nbcagt, it’s because…” Osbourne wrote in a Tweet to fellow “AGT” judge Howard Stern.
The TV personality did not finish that sentence or provide any further details on the mysterious Tweet.
NBC claims Osbourne has not notified them of any plans to leave the hit summer talent show, now in its seventh season.
When NBC Entertainment President Bob Greenblatt was asked to comment on the situation Tuesday afternoon during the network’s TCA presentations, he said he had nothing to say about the Osbourne Tweet, then brushed it off as probably “much ado about nothing.”
In addition to judging “AGT,” Osbourne co-hosts CBS’s daytime show “The Talk.”
Earlier in the day, NBC exec Paul Telegdy told TV critics in Beverly Hills how pleased the network is with new “AGT” judge Howard Stern: “We’re thrilled with Howard on the show. He’s proven himself to be a wonderful addition to the panel of judges on that show.”
The final four acts competing for the $1 million prize will be chosen on this week’s “America’s Got Talent,” which airs Tuesdays at 8/7c and Wednesdays at 9/8c on NBC.
