This week’s regular-series premiere of “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” on TLC drew 2.2 million viewers, a solid performance for the first spinoff of TLC’s “Toddlers & Tiaras.”

The Hollywood Reporter had the ratings story here, about the premiere episode of the blink-and-you’ll-miss-it six-episode “Honey Boo Boo” series.

The spinoff series premiered Wednesday at 10 p.m./9c, and will return for two new episodes next Wednesday (Aug. 15) on TLC. “Honey Boo Boo” is the “Toddlers & Tiaras” spinoff that stars 6-year-old Alana Thompson — nicknamed Honey Boo Boo — whose precocious personality made a her a standout star of “T&T.” That show, of course — about the often bizarre world of kiddie beauty pageants — is one of TLC’s most talked-about shows.

And while many of the moms and daughters seen on “T&T” would make for worthy spinoff series of their own, Honey Boo Boo and her family were the ones TLC picked for, among other reasons, their exuberant rural lifestyle in the backwoods of Georgia.
