Robert Pattinson wasn’t in the mood to share his internal battles with the entire world on Monday when he visited the set of “The Daily Show” to plug his new movie “Cosmopolis,” but he did treat Jon Stewart’s personal questions about his severed relationship with fellow “Twilight” co-star Kristen Stewart with class.

Details of Pattinson’s first public interview since Stewart (Kristen not Jon) was caught cheating on him with director Rupert Sanders have surfaced on TMZ and People.com. In the interview, Pattinson reportedly acknowledged his pain but steered clear of bashing his former flame.

Jon played the sympathetic ear, offering the actor Ben & Jerry’s ice cream to lift his spirits and asked, “How are you doing?” But Pattinson reportedly would only say, “I intend not to say anything.”

Stewart replied by noting that for young people, going through a breakup sometimes feels like the end of the world.

Pattinson answered, “It is.”

According to People, the audience then went “Awwwwwww.”

Pattinson later visited the Museum of Modern Art and told fans, “Thank you, guys, for being here.”
