“ER” star Goran Visnjic is joining the cast of ABC’s “Red Widow” as a series regular.
Visnjic is going from doctor to mobster, playing mafia boss Schiller in the mob drama debuting midseason, according to Deadline. The show stars Radha Mitchell (from Woody Allen’s “Melinda and Melinda”) as a widow who becomes takes on a crime organization, and the FBI, after her gangster husband is murdered by a rival syndicate.
Visnjic is best known for playing Dr. Luka Kovac on NBC’s “ER” from 1999 to 2008. Since checking out of the “ER,” Visnjic has appeared on TNT’s “Leverage” and last fall’s period drama from ABC, “Pan Am.”
Another “ER” alum is returning to television in a new series debuting midseason.
Anthony Edwards is starring in NBC’s “Zero Hour,” a thriller about a husband whose wife goes missing and his desperate search for her embroils him in an epic conspiracy rooted deep in human history.
