“We had no idea what was going on,” Laurita tells People of noticing a change in her son’s behavior when he was about 18 months old.
The reality star kept her son’s medical condition private and off-camera as the family visited many doctors and went through the struggles of reaching the autism diagnosis while filming Season 4 last year, the article says.
“I worry about him being independent when he’s older,” Jacqueline tells People. “I spend all my time researching what we can do for him.”
Laurita and husband Chris are also parents to Ashlee, 21, and C.J., 10.
“You never want to think that your child isn’t perfectly healthy. We didn’t want to believe it was true,” Chris added.
