Paranormal State” fans were in shock when they got the news that series investigator Ryan Buell was battling pancreatic cancer.

However, Buell shared some good news during a Twitter chat on Thursday, telling his fans and followers that he was succeeding in fighting the disease so far.

In his post, Buell told fans, “still have a ways to go but I am surprising docs w/ how well I’m recovering, apparently”

When another fan asked him about the best thing that ever happened to him, Buell looked forward instead, answering “Hopefully getting to say I’m cancer free by Christmas!”

Buell, who is 30 years old, founded the Paranormal Research Society and wrote a memoir, Paranormal State: My Journey Into the Unknown, in 2010.
