Is “American Idol” finally close to filling the void that is now the judges’ chairs?

With a seemingly endless parade of names being mentioned to fill the empty seats of the departed Jennifer Lopez, Randy Jackson and Steven Tyler, Entertainment Weekly now reports that Latin singer-songwriter Enrique Iglesias is close to finalizing a deal to appear on the show’s 12th season.

The series may expand to four judge’s seats, according to the report, but only Mariah Carey is currently under contract for the show.

Last week, multiple reports stated that rapper Nicki Minaj and country artist Keith Urban were also closing in on deals with the series. EW states that Iglesias received an offer on par with Urban’s deal, worth around $4 million per year.
