Under-the-radar celebrity couple Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively wed in a surprise, private ceremony Sunday night.
After just a year of dating, the “Gossip Girl” star married the hunky movie star under a white tent at the Boone Hall Plantation in Mt. Pleasant, S.C., near Charleston. People was first to report the marriage.
The romantic plantation is the same location where the 2004 love story “The Notebook” was filmed, according to US Weekly.
Florence Welch of Florence and the Machine, a good friend of the bride’s, performed three songs at the wedding reception, according to People, before a deejay took over.
The couple met on the set while filming the movie “Green Lantern” in 2010 and bought a home together in Bedford, N.Y. earlier this year. This is the first marriage for Lively, 25, who’s previously been linked to her “Gossip” costar Penn Badgley and Leonardo DiCaprio. Reynolds, 35, was previously married to actress Scarlett Johansson; they divorced in 2010 after two years of marriage.
Lively’s TV show is coming to an end this year after six seasons. The final season of “Gossip Girl” premieres on October 8 on The CW.
