Bravo’s Developing Scripted Series Based on ‘Heathers’

Move over, “Real Housewives”…there are some new mean girls coming to Bravo.

The network announced it is adapting the cult ’80s movie “Heathers” (which starred Christian Slater and Winona Ryder) into a scripted TV series.

The new “Heathers” will pick up 20 years later and focus on Veronica (Ryder’s character) and her teenage daughter, who’s facing her own high-school horror: a new generation of mean girls — known as the “Ashleys” — the daughters of the surviving “Heathers.”

The show is coming from Jenny Bicks (“The Big C,” “Men in Trees”), who will write and executive produce, along with Mark Rizzo (“The Man Date”).

In addition to the “Heathers” reboot, Bravo is also developing four other scripted series, including the hourlong dramas “The Apartment,” “The Darlings,” “All American Girl” and “Rita.”
