After being unwittingly turned into a vampire in last season’s finale, the season premiere, “Growing Pains,” opens with Elena still in “transition,” as Bonnie (Kat Graham) puts it in one of the newly released videos below.  She’s not fully dead nor is she fully alive. “Vampire Diaries” Scoop: Will Vampire Elena Turn to the Dark Side?

The first clip offers a glimpse at Elena learning her present undead predicament from – who else – the brothers Salvatore. “You were in an accident,” Stefan tells a confused Elena as she wakes up at home.

“When Jeremy brought you to the hospital before all this happened, your injuries were worse than anyone knew,” he continues. “Meredith Fell made a choice. She used Damon’s blood to heal you.”

An enraged Damon interjects, “And when Rebekah ran Matt’s truck off the road you had vampire blood in your system, Elena.” Cue shocked Elena below!
