Olympic beach volleyball star Kerri Walsh Jennings revealed on “Today” that she was five weeks pregnant when she won her third straight gold medal at the London Olympics last month.

She and husband Casey Jennings are expecting their third child on April 9.

That makes Jenning’s three-peat Olympic gold medal win with longtime partner Misty May-Treanor all the more impressive (or, you know, dangerous, depending on how you look at it), considering all that diving around in the sand.

“When I was throwing my body around fearlessly and going for gold for our country, I was pregnant and today I am now 11 weeks pregnant,” Walsh said Monday.

Jennings says she knew something was up when she found herself “moody” and “cranky” during the Olympics, something she initially thought was just the stress of the games.

“I’m a pretty happy girl and I was unreasonably moody and touchy, I thought it could have been the stress of the games and travel kind of throws your schedule off, but I knew. At some point, you’re late and then you start feeling something. And I definitely started feeling something in London.”

Kerri and Casey have two sons, Joey, 3, and Sundance 2, the latter of whom Kerri once joked was “made in China” — he was conceived during the Beijing Olympics.

With two sons at home, Casey says he has a “strong feeling” it’s a girl, but the couple would be happy with whatever they get either way.
