It is an age-old Hollywood story. On-screen they are one of America’s most beloved couples on ABC’s hit show “Modern Family,” but off-screen, the rivalry has finally boiled over.
At least, that is what Jesse Tyler Ferguson would have you believe in a hilarious post-Emmy sketch on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” The actor, who lost to his television husband Eric Stonestreet in the “Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series” category on Sunday night, is now seeking revenge for the loss.
On the show, Ferguson officially launched a “campaign” to discredit Stonestreet on future ballots, pointing out how he is taking work from gay actors and is a clown.
