Richard Belzer Gives Nazi Salute to Fox News

Richard Belzer on "Good Day New York" (E!)

Don’t expect to see Richard Belzer on Fox News anytime soon, and possibly any other Fox channel for that matter.

The “Law & Order: SVU” star delivered an unusual interview while appearing on the local New York FOX program “Good Day New York.” Although he was originally invited to discussed his new book, the interview quickly went off the rails with quips about rape, sodomy and Nazis.

Here’s what went down…

When asked if the show’s anchor could play his brother on the NBC show, Belzer decided to take the conversation in an unexpected direction, replying “If he gets molested and banged in the ass, maybe.”

Belzer then apologized as the hosts looked uncomfortable and explained, “I meant banged against a piece of furniture.”

As the interview prepared to wrap up, Belzer then looked at the camera, raised his arm into the Nazi salute and told the anchors, “Say ‘heil’ to all your colleagues at the other division.” Belzer, who is Jewish, has long proclaimed his opposition to Fox News coverage.

Belzer’s representative later told TMZ that Richard’s Nazi joke was a “satirical gesture toward Fox News … whose ideology he is opposed to.”
