Ann Romney is the latest famous face to guest co-host “Good Morning America” while Robin Roberts is out on medical leave.
The wife of Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney will join “GMA” anchor George Stephanopoulos during the 8 a.m. hour on next Wednesday’s show, ABC News has confirmed.
Speculation that ABC was in pursuit of Ann Romney for the gig — and that the network is also in discussions with First Lady Michelle Obama for an appearance — was first reported in mid-September by The New York Post.
Oprah Winfrey, Stephen Colbert, Jessica Simpson and the cast of “Modern Family” are among the celebrities who’ve helped fill-in as “GMA” co-hosts while Roberts recovers from the bone marrow transplant she had last month. Roberts gave an update on her progress Thursday in a new message to fans. Check it out here.
The “GMA” stint is another high-profile appearance for the political wife, who recently sat down last week with Jay Leno on “The Tonight Show.”
