Bristol Palin continued her incredible “Dancing with the Stars” success on Tuesday night as she stayed on the All-Stars with the lowest score while two former champions — Drew Lachey and Helio Castroneves — were eliminated.
The shocking Teflon power of Sarah Palin’s daughter was the elephant in the ballroom after the “DWTS” results show. It was something no one would talk about, but it was still there. While Drew and partner Anna Trebunskaya scored a 24 for their cha cha and Helio Castroneves and Chelsie Hightower 25.5 for their quickstep, Bristol and pro Mark Ballas only received 22.5 for their paso doble. They were scored dead last for the second straight week. And yet, when Tuesday night was over, Bristol was the one still standing.
Drew’s partner Anna couldn’t hide her frustration backstage, telling reporters they were “So robbed! Of course, we feel robbed.” But then, seeming to realize her words might be interpreted a certain way, the veteran dancer added, “I mean, we had so much fun together, I feel robbed of that. I feel robbed of having the fun of working with this person.”

Okay! Drew then admitted, “I feel disappointed that it came to an end. There are fantastic dancers on the show. Everybody knows that. Everybody sees it every week. Do I think we’re going home too early? Absolutely. I don’t think there’s anybody in this ballroom who would disagree with that. I don’t think I’m speaking out of turn by saying that. I think Helio’s going home too early as well.”
Anna interjected, “Yeah! What the heck is that?”
Season 2 “DWTS” winner Drew and then-partner Cheryl Burke’s routine “Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy” is a classic in the history of the show, but this time, he was teamed with Anna, while Cheryl danced with another former partner, Emmitt Smith. Many thought Drew and Anna’s chemistry was lacking at first, but their Monday night dance, in which the former 98 Degrees star bared his chest and did a cartwheel, got strong reviews from the judges.

Still, it wasn’t enough. Drew was philosophical, saying, “It’s the nature of this beast. We knew what we were getting into when we signed up for it. That’s part of why we love this show, the unpredictability. You put yourself out there and expose yourself to a scenario that is unknown.”
The singer, however, said he and Anna got a sinking feeling on Monday night. “When we first got our scores we were like yes, 24, that’s great! And then we saw how the scores kept getting higher and higher and higher, and we were like, really? We’re second to the bottom? I take pride in being a performer and, to me, it’s kind of ironic that the two Broadway performers, me and Joey [Fatone, who was eliminated last week] are gone already. It’s a little odd to me. It’s the unpredictability of the show.”
Anna put it more bluntly: “Basically, it’s the crappy part!”
But Drew admitted it was still a hard pill to swallow: “I take everything personally.” And Anna said, “Me, too, because that’s my job. I’m unemployed now. If anyone wants to hire me….”
Drew smiled that he was going to miss explaining American grammar and pop culture to Anna, who is Russian. Now the married father is going to pursue things that are close to his heart, telling xfinityTV: “I teach kids music theater in Cincinnati so I’m going to go back. I’ve got 22 great kids waiting for me there to teach them how to make it on Broadway so I’m going to go home, teach them, I’m going to love on my babies, pet my dog, I’m going to sleep on my own bed, sit on my own toilet.”
While Drew sits on his toilet at home, Bristol and Mark will dance Rock and Roll next week.
