Annnnnd CBS is the first network to rip off the band-aid, effectively cancelling the first new show of the 2012-2013 fall season.
The network is pulling “Made in Jersey” from the schedule after just two episodes aired.
CBS is filling the time slot by moving the upcoming fourth season of “Undercover Boss” to the Friday night lineup in the 8/7c hour and shifting “CSI: NY” to 9/8c, beginning Nov. 2.
“Made in Jersey” premiered on Sept. 28 to dismal ratings (even by Friday nights’ lower ratings standards), debuting with a 1.1 rating and 7.8 million viewers and dropping to a .8 rating and 6.7 million viewers in its second outing.
The legal drama stars newcomer Janet Montgomery as a working-class girl from the Garden State who uses her sass and street smarts to outwit her Ivy League colleagues at a fancy Manhattan law firm run by Kyle MacLachlan.
Other new fall shows on the cancellation chopping block: Fox’s “The Mob Doctor” is flatlining, currently pulling an atrocious 1.0 and 3.4 million viewers, and ABC’s highly promoted Sunday night fright “666 Park Avenue” appears to be a flop, down to a 1.7 rating and 5.1 million viewers in Week 2.
