TV titan Tyra Banks is developing a sitcom about her teen-aged years.
The supermodel-turned-TV mogul, 38, has reportedly sold the sitcom concept to ABC, which has agreed to produce a pilot, according to this story on the show biz Web site Deadline.com.
The show’s tentative title is “Fivehead,” according to the story. The word was apparently a derogatory word some kids devised for teasing the awkward, overly tall teen-aged Tyra for her over-sized forehead. (The word was a play on “forehead,” but our take is that this title won’t fly if this show ever becomes a series.)
“In high school, if you have glasses, you’re a ‘four eyes’, if you have braces, you’re a ‘metal mouth’ but if you had my forehead? You’re a fivehead,” Banks is quoted as saying in the Deadline story.
Tyra, of course, moved on from those gawky teen years to become one of the world’s most beautiful women — a supermodel who became a star TV personality and producer with her afternoon talk show and her reality series, “America’s Next Top Model.”
The Deadline story says she’s co-producing this new sitcom with a friend she’s known since childhood — producer Kenya Barris.
