CBS freshman dramas “Elementary” and “Vegas” have received full-season orders, the network announced Tuesday.

“‘Vegas’ and ‘Elementary’ have opened strong, delivering big audiences and winning performances in important time periods,” said Nina Tassler, President, CBS Entertainment. “Each of the shows has rich characters, big stars and a unique visual style that have stood out in the crowd, helping make two of our strongest nights even stronger.”

“Elementary,” which stars Jonny Lee Miller as Sherlock Holmes and Lucy Liu as Watson, averages 14.3 million viewers and a 3.5 rating in the key demo, making it the No. 2 new show of the season in the demo behind NBC’s “Revolution.”

Picking up “Vegas” also wasn’t a gamble for CBS — the sixties-set mob vs. the law drama starring Dennis Quaid and Michael Chiklis averages a strong 14.9 million viewers and a 2.7/8 in the adults 18-49 demo.

CBS’s other fall drama, “Made in Jersey,” was the first canceled show of the season.

“Vegas” airs Tuesdays at 10/9c and “Elementary” airs Thursdays at 10/9c on CBS.
