CW Planning Two-Hour Finale of ‘Gossip Girl’ on Dec. 17

The end is in sight for “Gossip Girl.”

The CW announced that the sixth and the last season of one of the network’s staple shows will wrap up with a finale event on Dec. 17 at 8 p.m. The Hollywood Reporter writes that the finale will also feature a retrospective that looks at the series’ “headline-making moments” and will include interviews with both the cast members and the show’s producers.

The series will reportedly showcase the identity of the blogger Gossip Girl by the end of the season and some veterans of the show, such as Katie Cassidy, will return as well.

The “Gossip Girl” finale will also offer viewers a preview of the CW’s upcoming “Sex and the City” prequel “The Carrie Diaries,” which will follow’s Carrie Bradshaw’s early years as a young woman growing up in the ’80s.
