Michelle Duggar Gets Surprise Makeover and Doesn’t Love It

TLC reality star Michelle Duggar got a surprise birthday present from her 19 kids — her first makeover in 40 years!

In honor of the “19 Kids and Counting” star turning 46, Michelle’s kids decided to give their mother a long-overdue updated look — with the help of her best friend Cindy.

But as Tuesday’s episode played out, it was apparent that some people just don’t like change.

Once the ambush makeover was underway, Michelle had eight inches of her long curly brown locks chopped off and blown out straight into a sleek new style. It was the most amount of hair she’d ever had cut off at one time, and, understandably, would take some getting used to from someone who hasn’t changed their hair in 40 years.

“Everything is very subtle, except what’s on the floor,” Cindy assured a wide-eyed Michelle, as eight inches of hair piled up around her on the Arkansas salon floor.

When they spun her chair around for the big reveal, Michelle stared in the mirror and exclaimed, “Oh, wow … it definitely is different.”

“This is what I look like when I get out of the shower,” she said later to the camera.

While mama Michelle’s daughters thought “She looked amazing,” her husband Jim Bob wasn’t exactly crazy about his wife’s new ‘do.

“I do like it longer,” Jim Bob said. Then he repeated it again, “I do like it longer” (ie, I do not like it presently).

And so, while she sported the new look for her birthday party, Michelle didn’t keep the sleek style for long — she quickly reverted to looking 20 years older her natural curls and ’80s bangs after the birthday bash.

“19 Kids and Counting” airs Tuesdays at 9/8c on TLC.
