UPDATE: Erica Hill will debut as the new co-anchor of Weekend “Today” alongside Lester Holt, news anchor Jenna Wolfe and meteorologist Dylan Dreyer beginning this Sunday, NBC News president Steve Capus confirmed Thursday.

Hill has also been named an NBC News national correspondent and will contribute reports for “Today,” “NBC Nightly News” and MSNBC.

“Erica’s extraordinary track record as a journalist has proven that she can cover everything from hard news to pop culture with ease and professionalism,” Capus said in a statement, according to Deadline.

News of Hill jumping networks was first reported in mid-October.

News anchor Erica Hill is hopping to another network once again.

The former CNN anchor, who was fired in July from her job on “CBS This Morning,” is jumping to NBC News, according to The New York Post.

Hill is expected to be named the new co-host of the weekend edition of “Today.” NBC News has no comment on the report, although a formal announcement is expected soon, says The Post.

She’ll join current “Weekend Today” host Lester Holt, who anchors the Saturday and Sunday editions, and Jenna Wolfe, who co-hosts Sundays.

Continuing the network-anchor merry-go-round, Hill will be filling the void left by Saturday “Today” anchor Amy Robach, who left NBC for ABC News in May.

Hill herself was replaced on “CBS This Morning” by NBC’s Norah O’Donnell earlier this year, in a morning-show shake-up that also included the additions of Charlie Rose and Gayle King.
