Dancing with the Stars” veteran pro Cheryl Burke really wants to be the next “Bachelorette.”

“I did interview with the execs and we’ll see what happens in the future,” Cheryl told xfinityTV backstage Monday night after her performance with All-Star partner Emmitt Smith. “It’s not a firm offer. It hasn’t been an offer but if they offer it to me, I would love to do it.”

Melissa Rycroft, who had her heart famously broken on the sister show “The Bachelor,” offered a warning to her “Dancing” costar, joking that if Cheryl really wants to get married, it’s “probably not the right show!”

But seriously, when we asked her what she thought of Cheryl possibly doing the hot ABC reality dating show, Melissa told xfinityTV, “She said she’s asked them before and they don’t think it’s believable that she can’t get a date. But I think Cheryl would be phenomenal — [if they] give her the free range of 20 guys?!”

But Melissa’s dance partner, Tony Dovolani, worries about the idea. “A marriage type of guy would be right for her,” Tony says, acting like a protective big brother. “Considering [the show’s] track record? Cheryl’s a sweetheart. Any man that would ever end up with her would be the luckiest man alive.”

So, is it true that Burke can’t get a date in Hollywood?

“It sounds crazy but I think I’m just so married to my work and I rarely meet new people,” Cheryl explains. “I’m around the same people for the last six years. It’s hard ’cause you see the amount of hours we work. I’m traveling every single week back and forth to Dallas. I have maybe a month and a half of down time and all I want to do during that month and a half is be with my family and go to sleep and it’s been hard for me to be introduced to guys.

“I make the wrong choices,” she added. “I dated a couple of guys over the summer and it turned out all bad so I figure if someone were to make the choice for me, then maybe I would have a better chance. I would make a choice — out of a pool of men, hopefully there would be one special person.”
