Ryan Seacrest has no clue what will happen when “American Idol’s” live show begin airing early next year, but he’s sure of one thing: the episodes won’t lack excitement.

On Monday’ night’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” Jimmy Kimmel asked the “Idol” host about the recent swirl surrounding the show’s new judges and alleged enemies, Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey. Artfully dodging the meat of the question, Seacrest admitted that all of the judges – including newbie Keith Urban – are “really great at giving their opinion,” and “fantastic at filtering the kids.” But, he did say that the element of unpredictability — which the show is most certainly banking on — will be “compelling to see.”

Unsatisfied with Seacrest’s response, Kimmel pushed deeper, asking if Minaj is actually “crazy” and if Seacrest is scared of her. “No I’m not,” Seacrest said diplomatically. “I think people are going to be impressed with how good she is as a judge on this show.” Right, because that is the reason why people will be tuning in next season.
