“Dancing with the Stars” co-host Brooke Burke-Charvet is “feeling strong” as she gets ready to undergo thyroid cancer surgery this week.
On her Facebook page on Monday, she informed her 20,000+ followers that she was expecting a quick recovery following thyroid surgery and a thyroidectomy, writing “I’m getting ready this week for my surgery and am planning on a speedy recovery. What a crazy time, but I am surrounded with love and support and that really makes a world of difference.”
Burke-Charvet first went public with her illness on Nov. 8 via a video on the website ModernMom.com and thanked her fans for their thoughts and wishes heading into the procedure.
“I am touched and appreciative to all of you for sharing your positive wishes for my surgery, and for sharing many of your personal thyroid experiences,” she wrote. “I really do read your comments and they all mean a lot to me. I feel [your thoughts and prayers], truly, and your energy outweighs my stress! From the bottom of my heart, thank you.”
