The queen of teen drama Molly Ringwald isn’t shying away from her classic ’80s persona — she’s even making a new show about it.
Ringwald is developing a new series for Lifetime, in which she’ll star and serve as executive producer, reports Variety. In the untitled project, Ringwald will play an adult whose personality is evocative of the types of characters that made the redhead famous in classic John Hughes flicks such as “Sixteen Candles,” “The Breakfast Club,” and “Pretty in Pink.”
According to Variety, the show will center around “a woman who returns to her hometown with two kids and confronts the social issues of her past, including the mean girls of her high school days.”
Ringwald currently co-stars in “The Secret Life of the American Teenager,” which ABC Family announced in October would be ending its run after five seasons.
