Martha Stewart Gets Salmonella From Thanksgiving Turkeys

Domestic goddess Martha Stewart was stricken with salmonella over the Thanksgiving holiday, forcing her to cancel a series of appearances and meetings.

The cooking expert and curator of all “Good Things” believes the infection may have come from all those talking turkey TV appearances she did late last month for Thanksgiving.

“I never get sick, but I came down with salmonella,” Stewart tells Page Six when they caught up with her at the Art Basel art fair VIP preview in Miami. “I think I caught it because I was handling so many turkeys around Thanksgiving. I was on the ‘Today’ show, I did a number of other [Thanksgiving] appearances.

“It really hit me hard and I was in bed for days. It was terrible,” Stewart says.

Stewart is fully recovered now and added there was at least one benefit from not being able to stuff herself with all those turkey leftovers:

“I lost some weight, though,” from the illness Martha says.
