Looks like someone needs a new pair of pants for Christmas.
On Thursday’s episode of “Anderson Live,” Anderson Cooper made a startling confession: He’s worn the same jeans for the past six months and has only washed them twice.
“In my real life I wear a t-shirt, grey or white, same pair of jeans,” he told guest Stacy London, co-host of TLC’s “What Not to Wear.” “Literally, the same pair of jeans everyday,” he added.
According to the Silver Fox, these newfangled pants, from French outfitter APC, don’t need to be washed that often. Right.
“I have to say six months is probably a little long,” London cautioned. “You are pushing it a little but the idea with denim really is that to maintain your denim, the integrity of your denim, you should wash it in cold water, no soap and air dry it. Now are you doing that?”
Cooper then revealed another shocking anecdote: the two times he has actually cleaned his jeans in the last half-year, he’s done it while bathing! “I’ve worn them and walked into my shower with them and put some soap on them and then air dried them. Isn’t that how you are supposed to do it?”
Oh, Anderson, didn’t your mother, denim aficionado Gloria Vanderbilt, teach you any better?!
