When AMC’s polarizing drama “The Killing” returns in 2013, it will be without a few key players.

Billy Campbell, who played Councilman Darren Richmond will not be back on the show, according to Variety. And given that the Rosie Larsen murder was finally solved, the teen’s parents have no link to the new plotline, therefore Michelle Forbes and Brent Sexton also will not be returning.

Leading stars Mireille Enos and Joel Kinnaman are expected to return as Seattle detectives Sarah Linden and Stephen Holder, who presumably will be investigating a new case that will be the mystery of the season.

As previously reported, the cancelled moody mystery has allegedly been resurrected for a third season at AMC, with the showrunner and writers back at work in the writers room on new episodes.

AMC has not confirmed the reports, nor has a premiere date been mentioned.
