CNN anchor Erin Burnett got married, just in time for Christmas.
Burnett, 36, wed her long-time boyfriend, David Rubulotta, an executive at Citigroup (parent company of CitiBank), on Friday in New York, according to this story on the People magazine Web site.
Burnett and Rubulotta, 42 (according to People), had a small wedding apparently — exchanging vows at New York City Hall (though the story didn’t say if Mayor Bloomberg officiated), then enjoyed a reception at a Manhattan restaurant.
People magazine said Burnett and Rubulotta met eight years ago on a blind date. They announced their engagement last September.
Burnett’s CNN show, “OutFront,” is seen weekdays at 7 p.m. (6c). The show started out at 8 p.m., though, anchoring CNN’s prime-time lineup, but didn’t generate the ratings CNN had hoped for.
CNN has struggled to keep pace in the cable news wars (which Fox News Channel leads by a wide margin) in recent years. And now, Burnett is reportedly being eyed for yet another role at CNN — co-anchor of the network’s morning show. That move is expected to be made when CNN’s new president, Jeff Zucker, officially starts his new job in the new year.
