Levine will make his “SNL” hosting debut on the January 26 episode, NBC announced Thursday.

His band Maroon 5 will not be the musical guest that night, however; that gig is going to hip-hop artist Kendrick Lamar, whose debut album, “good kid, m.A.A.d city,” shot to the top of the charts in 2012.

The week before that, “SNL” will return with a new episode on January 19, featuring host Jennifer Lawrence (“Silver Linings Playbook,” “The Hunger Games”) and musical guest The Lumineers, also making their “SNL” debuts.
