Are your New Year’s weight resolutions making your rear ends jiggle in fear? Well, have no fear: Your favorite weight loss show on NBC, “The Biggest Loser,” is back Jan. 6th (9/8c) and is ready to “Challenge America” family style—and that means getting obese kids off their feet, too! But don’t expect these young ‘uns to be barked at or challenged at the ranch.

“[The kids] aren’t ever on the scale and they don’t work out in The Biggest Loser gym and they don’t live on the ranch,” confirmed “BL” host Alison Sweeney on a recent conference call with reporters. “We’re really trying to help them learn how to care for themselves in their environment at home with their families, which is a huge task.”

And that task also falls on the trainers, which you may have noticed has a welcomed ole timer back on set: the raging, butt-kicking Jillian Michaels! Ah, yes, Bob Harper and Dolvett Quince will be making way for some much-needed testosterone estrogen in the trainers’ club.

So how will the competitive spirits of Bob, Jillian, and Dolvett mesh at the ranch? Will it be three’s a crowd? Sweeney says they all got along famously, regardless of their different styles of training.

“It’s actually super awesome to watch the three of them interact, to watch it unfold,” says Sweeney. “To see the respect [Bob, Jillian, and Dolvett] have for each other and how they really acknowledge everybody has their own style—they really complement each other in an amazing way.”

As for the adult contestants on the show, don’t expect them to feel all warm and fuzzy towards the Training Trio. With all those pounds and life-affirming changes at stake, expect the usual sweat, screaming, fainting, snot, and tears—ya know, the usual good times.
