When the 70th Annual Golden Globe Awards air on NBC this Sunday night at 8/7c, Ricky Gervais will be miles away from Los Angeles.

The reason is not because the three-time former Globes host is fearful of reentering the celebrity lion’s den, but simply because he begins shooting the new “Muppets” movie sequel in London next week.

“I’m gonna miss it,” Gervais told television reporters at a TCA panel for his upcoming Netflix series “Derek” in Pasadena, California on Wednesday.

“Honestly I enjoyed the last three Golden Globes immensely,” he admitted. “To be the most feared man in Hollywood for three hours is such fun.”

The 70th Annual Golden Globes, hosted by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, airs this Sunday, Jan. 13 at 8/7c on NBC.
