After winning a Golden Globe on Sunday, actress and “Girls” star Lena Dunham now has something even rarer… an apology from Howard Stern.

On Monday, Stern apologized on the air to Dunham, a week after calling her a “a little fat girl who looks like Jonah Hill,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.

After watching Dunham take home the trophies for best actress in a comedy series as well as for best comedy series overall at the event, Stern took to the airwaves on his SiriusXM show to deliver a mea culpa.

“I felt bad because I really do love the show Girls and enjoy it, and I admire the girl who writes it,” he said, noting that the media made a “hatchet job” of his seemingly harsh remarks.

Stern adds that he asked his producer to put him in contact with Dunham and tell her “I would like to explain myself on the air and apologize to her,’ because I do love the show and it makes me feel bad that she is getting the impression that I somehow think she’s just a talentless little fat chick.”
