Long before there was Bennifer Againnifer (aka Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner),  there was the original Bennifer supercouple: Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez, whose two year relationship ended with a broken engagement in 2004.

On Wednesday’s episode of “Ellen,” Ellen DeGeneres asked Lopez if it was awkward running into Affleck and her former flame P. Diddy at the Golden Globes on Sunday night. “No, because I see them a lot,” Lopez responded, adding that they all work in the same business and “run in the same circles.”

DeGeneres mentioned that Lopez stood up for Affleck when he won the Best Director award for his film “Argo.” “You must have been so proud,” DeGeneres said. “What a great movie that was.” “It was a great movie,” Lopez said, revealing that she felt condemned by the press when they dated and co-starred in the films “Gigli” and “Jersey Girl.” “They were really hard on us in the press when we dated back in the day, on movies and things like that.”

Ultimately, Lopez called Affleck’s win a “nice moment.”

“It was a nice to see him have that moment,” she said. “I was really happy for him.”
