Musician and “NCIS: Los Angeles” star LL Cool J publicly discusses his difficult past as the victim of child abuse for the first time in an interview with Oprah Winfrey.

On Sunday’s “Oprah’s Next Chapter,” the entertainer, whose real name is James Todd Smith, described to Winfrey how he was beaten as a child by a friend of his mother’s called “Roscoe.”

“It wasn’t sexual, it was beatings, take all your clothes off…,” Smith, 45, said of the abuse, which Winfrey likened to torture.

The rapper was brutally punished for doing things like opening the refrigerator, watching TV…basically, for “just being a kid.”

When Oprah asked him what was the worst thing he went through, Smith described how he had been stripped naked, humiliated, beaten with vacuum cleaner pipes, and once even kicked out into the snow and forced to stay outside.

LL Cool J, now a father of four and married to his wife for 17 years, first revealed his childhood abuse in his autobiography, “I Make My Own Rules,” but this sitdown marked the first time he discussed it on TV.

“Oprah’s Next Chapter” airs Sundays at 9/8c on OWN.
