Oh, the perils of getting the part…January Jones’ ever-morphing hair styles have led to one mane issue: Her hair is falling out.
Jones, 35, discussed the, uh, fallout from dying her hair for a variety of recent roles, like her turn as a redhead to play a former prostitute in her new movie “Sweetwater,” then a stint as a brunette, before going back to her platinum lockes to play icy homemaker Betty Draper on the acclaimed AMC series.
“I’ve been blonde, red with extensions for this film, then blonde, then black, and now blonde again,” Jones explains. “I’m going to have to shave it off and wear a wig.”
She likes experimenting with different looks, but just like those unabashed gentleman, January also prefers blondes…being one.
“I like it all colors, it makes you feel different according to what color it is, but I prefer to be blonde,” Jones said, adding that’s how her 16-month-old son Xander knows mommy best. “My son recognizes me in photos when I am blonde, he says mama.”
Jones also admitted that going dark wasn’t that much fun, as she was “suddenly invisible.”
