John Corbett Tapped to Star in ‘NCIS: LA’ Spinoff

John Corbett has been tapped to star in CBS’s upcoming spinoff of “NCIS: Los Angeles,” Deadline reports.

He’ll play the male lead in the third series of the popular “NCIS” franchise, which will follow a team of mobile agents as they solve crimes across the country.

It was also revealed Wednesday that “NCIS: LA” co-star Miguel Ferrer, who plays NCIS Assistant Director Owen Granger, will crossover to join the potential series, which will be introduced in an episode of “NCIS: LA” called “Red” slated to air later this season.

They join actor Edwin Hodge (“Cougar Town”) who’s also on board as a series regular, in casting news first reported Tuesday.

Corbett is best known for his TV roles on “Sex and the City,” “United States of Tara,” “Parenthood” and “Northern Exposure,” and, of course, the hit 2002 film, “My Big Fat Greek Wedding.”
