The first rule of Fight Club is you do not talk about Fight Club, so when Five-0 investigates the murder of Thomas Hoapili, who was shot to death in front of four slightly drunk witnesses, no one reveals to McGarrett (Alex O’Loughlin) or Danno (Scott Caan) Thomas’ secret identity: He is a Lua (ancient Hawaiian hand-to-hand combat) master.

The murder weapon was a Smith & Wesson and the Five-0 team is seriously unhappy when the partial print on the gun turns out to belong to Kamekona (Taylor Wily), the shrimp king. When questioned, all Kamekona will tell McGarrett is that he gave his cousin a gun for protection. But as soon as they walk away, he closes down his shrimp truck, jumps in his car and speeds away.

McGarrett and Dano follow and Kamekona leads them to a small-time crook, whose brother is in jail courtesy of Thomas. But it is a false lead, so McGarrett and Danno talk to Thomas’ daughter Maggie (Summer Glau).

But when Max (Masi Oka) discovers during Thomas’ autopsy that he had been beaten so badly he would have died even if he had not been shot, it puts a new twist on the case. Maggie steadfastly adheres to the rules of Fight Club and refuses to reveal anything — but McGarrett can tell she knows something — so he brings in Kamekona to convince her to spill.

She finally breaks down and takes the Five-0 team to the training center on her family’s property, where she admits that Thomas trained her and several other men in the ancient art of Lua. McGarrett finally gets a clue as to what really happened to Thomas but, before he can act, Maggie is kidnapped and has to fight for her life. Take a look at the fight above.
