Ten models from Sports Illustrated’s annual swimsuit edition turned up on David Letterman’s “Late Show” to deliver a “Top Ten” list.
The stunt seen Monday night on CBS was contrived to promote the release on Tuesday of the annual swimsuit mag, which this year features model Kate Upton on the cover for the second consecutive year. As part of the promotion, a giant billboard featuring this year’s cover photo was erected atop the marquee of the Ed Sullivan Theater in midtown Manhattan.
The category for this year’s swimsuit-model “Top Ten” was: “Top Ten Questions on the Application to Become a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Model.”
Among the items on the list: “No. 4 — Have you ever used any pose-enhancing drugs?” delivered by model Julie Henderson.
We especially liked No. 3, delivered by Genevieve Morton: “Are you willing to visit the elderly at his late-night talk show?”
Item No. 1 was delivered by the cover girl herself, Kate Upton: “Where’s the strangest place you’ve found sand?” — a reference, presumably to the swimsuit issue’s seaside locations.
