Ryan Seacrest is giving his own spin on the “Dancing” craze.
The six-episode order for the unscripted series, tentatively titled “Montecito,” will head to the posh California town that’s home to some of the wealthiest women in the world who have a thing for ballroom dancing…and maybe the handsome, hardworking male dance instructors that train them too.
The hour-long episodes will “allow viewers to get to know the men and women beyond the dance floor by exploring their often unique relationships,” says THR, adding, “the question the series will ask is how far will they go to satisfy the demands of their clients.”
So it sounds as if “Montecito” will be something like a tango between “The Real Housewives” and a reality version of “Dirty Dancing,” where the Johnny Castles of the world benefit from and/or fight off rich, bored ladies like Mrs. Pressman.
It’s the latest move for the hardest working man in showbiz as the reality/radio host/producer continues to build his TV empire with his production house Ryan Seacrest Productions. Seacrest is already the executive producer of E!’s “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” and its spinoffs, “Married to Jonas,” the upcoming reality series “The Wanted Life,” and Bravo’s “Shahs of Sunset.”
