Khloe Kardashian is reportedly getting the axe from “The X Factor,” after one season as co-host of the Fox reality show.
“They are asking Mario [Lopez] to come back, but not Khloe,” an insider confirms to The New York Post.
Awkward and ill at ease in the role, Kardashian, 28, has been rumored to be out ever since Season 2 wrapped. Now it seems as if the decision has been made, although not officially announced.
The reality star, who joined the struggling singing competition’s second season along with Mario Lopez, had no previous hosting experience and drew cringe-worthy criticisms for appearing nervous and uncomfortable on live TV. The smoother Lopez, who hosts the entertainment magazine “Extra,” often had to overcompensate for Khloe, who never quite found her groove.
If Kardashian does get X’d out of the equation, she’ll be the third cast member to exit the turbulent show after its sophomore season, following the departures of L.A. Reid and Britney Spears.
As Simon Cowell endeavors to revamp the show for the third time in three seasons, Fox executive Chase Carey admitted earlier this month on a conference call with investors that “The X Factor” was “a disappointment” for the network.
A spokesperson for the show maintains, “The producers have not yet made the talent decisions for this year,” according to the Post.
Meanwhile, an uncomfortable exchange between Khloe and sister Kourtney’s boyfriend and baby daddy is getting attention following Sunday night’s episode of “Kourtney and Kim Take Miami.”
Apparently, Scott Disick got a little too flirty and handsy for Khloe’s taste while they were out at a club.
“He kinda crossed a line with me,” khloe, who’s married to pro basketball player Lamar Odom, said. “It was so uncomfortable. I felt so violated.” She later told Scott, after ratting him out to her sister, “Lamar might assassinate you.”
