CSI: NY” star Hill Harper is leaving the CBS show to join USA’s “Covert Affairs,” reports Deadline.

Harper has signed on as a series regular for the upcoming fourth season of “Covert Affairs,” where he’ll co-star alongside Piper Perabo, Christopher Gorham, Kari Matchett and Peter Gallagher. The 16-episode season is currently filming in Toronto.

In his new “Affairs,” Harper will play “an ambitious CIA station chief based in Latin America who is plotting his way into a bigger position back in Washington and seeks Annie and Auggie’s help, but his questionable actions will cause them to doubt his intentions,” according to Deadline.

Harper has played Dr. Sheldon Hawkes on the “CSI” spin-off since it launched in 2004.

If the current industry speculation is true, however, everyone will be leaving “CSI: NY.” The spinoff series has not been picked up yet for a tenth season and is considered to be on the bubble and in danger of cancellation.
