Barbara Walters is planning to return to “The View” on Monday after a six-week leave of absence for health reasons.
The news veteran called into her ABC daytime program Tuesday with another update, happily reporting to her co-hosts, “no more chickenpox.”
“I’ve had enough rest and it’s time to come back,” Walters said.
Walters, 83, was initially hospitalized Jan. 19 after fainting and hitting her head at a pre-inaugural party in Washington, D.C. She suffered a concussion and required six stitches. She was later diagnosed with the chicken pox, which is typically found in children and can be a serious condition for older adults.
Walters was released from the hospital on Jan. 29 and has been recuperating at her home in New York, while a series of celebrity guest hosts filled in for her on the show.
