“Sons of Anarchy” creator Kurt Sutter and former “Hell on Wheels” showrunner John Shiban are teaming up for a new FX drama, the network announced Tuesday.
The show, which has received a script development deal as part of the Sutter’s overall deal with Fox 21, is titled “Lucas Stand” and is described as “a dark, action/horror drama” that will feature both episodic and serialized elements.
Based on an idea from Sutter, “Lucas Stand” will follow “the salvation quest of a damaged former special ops soldier, who has been chosen to traverse time and place to hunt down and kill Hell’s law-breaking demons,” according to the press release.
FX also revealed that Sutter and his real-life wife and leading lady of “Anarchy” Katey Sagal, along with Belle Zwerdling, are developing a dark comedy for the network, awesomely titled, “Diva. Clown. Killer.”
Sutter’s been riding high at FX with his hit biker drama “SOA,” which recently concluded its fifth season — its highest rated yet, averaging 6.37 million total viewers and 4.35 million in the key adults 18-49 demo, according to FX.
