Duck Dynasty” is shooting down its rivals.

The popular A&E series returned to the network with record ratings, and delivered 8.6 million viewers to the network,a according to Nielsen. That is good enough to set a new record for the network, as the most-watched episode ever for the network as the most-viewed reality show episode in all of cable so far this year.

The key battle, however is in the ad-friendly adult 18-49 demo, where “Duck Dynasty” scored a 4.0 rating. Surprisingly, that is even better than network stalwarts “American Idol” on FOX and “Modern Family” on ABC, which both drew a 3.9 score in the demographic.
