The CW is reviving the fantastically fun improvisational series “Whose Line Is It Anyway?“, the network announced Friday.

This time around, Aisha Tyler (co-host of CBS’s “The Talk“) will host the show, which will feature the return of key players Ryan Stiles, Wayne Brady and Colin Mochrie, along with a special guest for each episode. The only bummer here is original host Drew Carey appears to have no role in the new version (likely due to his commitment to hosting the CBS game show “The Price Is Right”).

“Whose Line” puts the comedic skills of its performers to the test in a series of improv games in which they are prompted by random ideas supplied by the audience and the host. The gang then must use their creativity to act out the scenes, which can range from acting out different characters to performing songs.

After each improv round, Tyler will issue points to the four performers and declare a winner at the end of every episode.

“Whose Line” was based on the hit U.K. format and ran in an earlier incarnation on ABC for eight seasons (1998-2006), starring Stiles, Brady and Mochrie, with Carey as part-time improver and host.

Premiere information will be announced at a later time, but it is slated for the summer 2013 schedule.
